Now take a look at some pictures of new children playgrounds, they look good, don`t they. The facilities are new and safe, the benches are whole, the flooring is impact absorbing so that it can protect the children from injuries.
There is a wide choice of slides, swings and various other facilities on the market, meeting the respective safety requirements. The facilities should meet the Bulgarian National Standard EN 1176 and should be installed correspondingly. The slides should be set firmly and should have safe steps. The top of the slide should be safeguarded in order to prevent falling. The facilities should have comfortable handles.
The asphalt ant the concrete are not suitable floorings for the children playground. Even the grass and the soil are not safe, because they may get damaged when subjected to climatic conditions, and loose their ability to absorb the child`s impact
Certain materials, such as sand or wooden shavings, are suitable for mobile facilities. The sand attracts some animals, especially cats, so the sand pits should be inspected on a daily basis, to be cleaned and disinfected when required. Moreover - the toddlers enjoy tasting everything, so there is a risk of swallowing. As a whole - this is an initially cheap option, which requires daily and sometimes expensive maintenance.
The rubber tiles and the poured rubber flooring are efficient and longlasting, with excelent impact absorbing characteristics. The poured impact absorbing rubber flooring is a homogeneous mass of joined together rubber granules, which is prepared on-site and then poured on the already exisitng suitable base, or on a specially prepared base. The flooring can be installed in different thicknesses and with the option for different designs. The rubber tiles are offered in different thicknesses and in several different colours. They are installed using full-surface gluing with polyurethane glue. This two flooring options are considerably more expansive than the sand, but they require cheap maintenace with almost no efforts.
